Our Missionmartyria final

The fundamental task of Our Savior's Lutheran Church is to bear witness to Jesus Christ and His saving Gospel.

THE PROBLEM:

Mankind has a problem and it is sin, that is rebellion against God's will and word.

Romans 5:12 "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned."

Because of sin all mankind is destined to stand in Judgment before the God of all creation and be held accountable for their sin.

Hebrews 9:27 "And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,"

THE ANSWER:jesus-and-the-lamb

The answer for our sin problem is found in Jesus Christ-the Lamb of God, who painfully suffered and died upon a Roman cross making the full payment for the sins of mankind-even for your sins.

1 Peter 3:18 "For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust ..."

HOW IS ONE SAVED:

In repentant faith in Jesus Christ alone we are saved from the everlasting punishment of hell.

Acts 2:38 "Repent, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

1 John 1:8-9 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE END?

Christ will return one day and unbelievers will be separated from Him and put in everlasting punishment, but believers in Jesus Christ from all ages will be with Him forever to enjoy the 'new heavens and new earth'.

Matthew 25:31-46 “But when the Son of Man comes in His glory ... All the nations will be gathered before Him; ... These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

REVELATIONRev. 21:1-5 "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 HeEARTH will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”  5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

MARTYRI'A: means 'witness'

Our mission prayer at the close of each service is:

"Lord, lay some soul upon my heart and love that soul through me,

and help me humbly do my part to lead that soul to thee. Amen."
